PURPOSE

Promoting involvement in Kragerø for sustainable development: social, economic and cultural, that Kragerø are better suited to meet the great challenges we face, both in Norway and globally.

The Pearl-initiative is an idea that has emerged from thinking globally about the possibilities Kragerø have. It is a concept started with, Bradford Lee Matthews, who emigrated here 5 years ago. He brings with him experience working as an international consultant with major corporations in Norway as Cisco, Statoil and Right Management in cooperative innovation. Both private and public sectors have been customers and one of the themes have been community-based development of healthcare and education. His company Co-Innovation AS was founded in Norway 2013. Contacts on a national basis include thought-leading organizations in initiatives that: INTPOW (a big union for alternative energy in Norway), Siemens Marine based in Trondheim (clean marine power systems), Grenland Energy based in Telemark (clean marine power systems), LO (employee-driven innovation); and internationally as the Harvard University Graduate School of Education, the American Federation of Teachers (union), Regen Nautic (USA) (clean marine power systems supplier to Norges own Goldfish boats), etc.
